PicPay: cartão, conta e pix, a popular Brazilian payment app, saw its downloads peak at 1.4M in mid-February, followed by a gradual decrease to 617K by the end of March. However, its weekly active users consistently hovered above 10M, ending the quarter with over 10M active users.
Mercado Pago: cuenta digital, another major player in the digital payments space from Argentina, kicked off the quarter with downloads around 490K, which saw a high of 620K in mid-January. The app concluded the quarter with 441K downloads in the last week of March. Despite the fluctuation in downloads, weekly active users saw a steady rise, starting from 13M and reaching over 14M by the end of the quarter.
Nubank: conta, cartão e mais experienced consistent growth in both downloads and active users. Starting the quarter with 360K downloads, it reached its peak with 509K downloads in late March. The app's weekly active users showed a notable upward trend, starting at 17.9M and growing to 20.6M active users.
For CAIXA, the app of Brazil's federal bank, downloads fluctuated throughout the quarter, with a high of 471K in mid-February and ending with 358K in the last week of March. The app's active users saw a decrease from 13.9M at the beginning of the quarter to 11.8M by the end.
Lastly, Santander Brasil saw an initial increase in downloads from 120K to a peak of 198K in early February, followed by a drop to 164K by the end of March. The weekly active users experienced a peak of 7.5M in mid-January and ended the quarter with 7.3M active users.
While the revenue data for these apps showed a value of zero, the trends in downloads and weekly active users suggest that the Consumer Finance category remains dynamic in Latin America, with users actively engaging with these financial platforms.
